Agoura Hills
Agoura Hills is east of the Conejo Valley between the Simi Hills and the Santa Monica Mountains. This city on the Ventura Freeway (U.S. Route 101) straddles the border between the county of Los Angeles and Ventura County to the north. It is about 30 miles northwest of Downtown Los Angeles and less than 10 miles west of the Los Angeles City limits. Agoura Hills and unincorporated Agoura sit next to Calabasas, Malibu, Oak Park, and Westlake Village. Agoura Hills is known regionally for its live music scene and originality in the metal scene, where many famous bands like Linkin Park, Incubus, Hoobastank, Dead By Sunrise, and Fort Minor emerged from.
Thousand Oaks
Named after the dozens of oak trees that line the streets, Thousand Oaks is a suburban haven located in Ventura County. The city forms the most populated part of a regional area called the Conejo Valley, which includes Thousand Oaks proper, Newbury Park, Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, and Oak Park. The Los Angeles County/Ventura County line crosses at the western city limits of Westlake Village.
Westlake Village
Westlake Village located in the region known as the Conejo Valley, is an affluent community that sits on the Los Angeles and Ventura County line. The eastern side is Westlake Village, whereas the western edge is Los Angeles County. Conejo Valley encompasses half of the area around Westlake Lake, and small neighborhood communities south of the U.S. Route 101 and east of La Venta Drive. The western portion of Westlake Village is a community, within the city limits of Thousand Oaks, in Ventura County.
